Furious (Angry) Birds PK-3
CHARACTER TRAIT – RESPECT
Skill- Anger Management
Overview of Respect
Often times disrespect can lead to anger. There are many ways you
can be respectful.
1. You can respect yourself by making good choices, forgiving
yourself if you make a mistake, and focusing on the things you
are good at that make you special.
2. You can respect others by using kind words and actions,
forgiving people when they make mistakes, and remembering
every person is different. Even when they make us angry we
should still treat them with respect.
3. Respect the world around you by keeping our earth clean,
reusing things when we can, and admiring wild life from a
distance.

That’s for the Birds (Informational Text)
How to Bird Watch
1. Get a pair of binoculars, notebook , pencil, and rubber boots.
2. Find a book or guide about birds in your area.
3. Find a friend that likes watching birds as much as you do.
4. “The early bird catches the worm” is a common expression. Birds hunt for
their food in the morning so an early start gives them the best chance of
getting a worm.
5. Take pictures so you can identify and keep a record of all the birds you have
seen.

How to be a RESPECTFUL Bird Watcher (Informational Text)
1. Don’t get too close to nests or places where birds feed. This can cause birds to move or not
return to areas.
2. Some birds, like Swans, may attack you if you get too close. That’s a real FURIOUS bird.
3. Respect signs for people’s private property.
4. Don’t attract birds to areas where they might be in danger, like your backyard, if you have a
hungry cat.
5. Don’t eat crunchy snacks. This might scare the birds away.
6. Walk quietly! You may even want to use a hiding place so the birds don’t even know you are
there.

Getting angry is a part of life. Everyone gets angry from time to time. It is best to have a trusted adult you can discuss your
anger with and help you to choose appropriates ways to deal with it. Don’t be like the volcano and wait to you build up with
so much as anger you feel like EXPLODING. Making choices when we are so angry almost never turns out well.
