Your target is to earn 100 points. You will achieve this by selecting homework tasks from those below. You can choose to do any of these
tasks to meet or exceed the total points. The focus is on quality work, not just completing the tasks quickly Please do not leave your
homework to the last minute. You must complete at least one writing task.
Maths- Telling the time.
Create a poster to put around the
classroom about how to tell the time.
You can draw a digital or analogue
clock or both, to show people how to
tell the time You will need to label and
write captions on your poster to
explain to people how to tell the time.

Design and make a wind chime
for our sensory garden. (DT)
Design and make using recycled
materials a wind chime to go
into our sensory garden.
To write a portal story. (English)
Next half term we will be reading and writing the
portal story ‘Alice in Wonderland’
A portal story is when the characters end up in a
different land and go on an adventure. They get to this
land by a magic door, a magic key, a puddle, a bridge,
the ding dong from an ancient clock or a special piece
of food. Write your own portal story. You can create
your own characters, the portal that takes them to the
land, the adventure they have and of course how they
get back home.

Spellings Learn to read and then spell the words for
Year 3 which can be found attached to this sheet. Ask
an adult to tick or highlight the words you can spell by
yourself.
Create a poster showing the
water cycle. (Geography)
Create a poster showing the
water cycle. Research the water
cycle by using a book or the internet. You can
draw pictures and colour in or use materials like
the pictures to show the water cycle. Remember
to give your poster a title- ‘The Water Cycle’ and
label your work using these four words:
transpiration, condensation, precipitation and
evaporation.

Fiction Book Review (English) Create a book
review about a book you have read, a favourite
book or a book you are reading. In your book
review, you need to include:
Poster on how to keep your teeth healthy or
instructions on how to brush your teeth.
(Science) Research using the
internet, books or adults/older
siblings you live with how to keep
teeth healthy or how to clean
your teeth. Write up a detailed
set of instructions with pictures
on how to clean your teeth or
create detailed poster on how to keep your teeth
healthy.

3D Sensory Garden (DT/Science) Design a
sensory garden. Your sensory garden needs to be
divided into four- taste, touch, smell and sight.
Research plants and garden decorations that you
could put in each of the sections. Then make your
sensory garden using Lego, recycled materials,
paint or construction materials.

A picture from the book., detailed description
about the main character (character profile), a
summary of what happens in the story in no more
than 5 bullet points and explain w hy you liked the
book.
Maths Practise the multiplication tables for your
year group. You can do this by chanting the tables,
playing games and answering questions with an adult
or older sibling. You can also ask your teacher for a
set of sheets to help you. Try completing one a
week and ask an adult at home to mark them. Bring
back the completed sheets when your homework is
due, or be prepared to answer some questions from
your teacher. 30 points
