TheCapoCoastalClassictournamentismadepossibleonlythrough
adherencetospecifiedregulationsrelatedtoparkuseintheCityofSanJuan
Capistrano,alongwithcooperationbytheresidentsinthearea.Weexpect
players,coaches,parentsandotherteamaffiliatestoadheretothese
rules.Weappreciateyourcooperationandyoursupport.
Regulations:
1. Teamsplayingthefirstgameofthedayarenottoarrive(i.e.park
yourvehicleand/orbeginwarmups)morethanonehourpriorto
thescheduledgametime(exceptionsfortournament
staff).Pleaserespectourneighborsandrefrainfromanyloud
noises.
2. NoRVParkingonCalleArroyobetweenthesnackbarbuilding
andthestableparkinglotatCooks1,2,and3;andonLaNovia
betweenthecornerandthebridgeattheLaNoviafield.
3. Noovernightparkingofanyvehicles.Vehiclesparkedovernight
willbeaskedtomove.Illegalparkingwillbeticketedbylaw
enforcement.

OnehourpriortoyourfirstgameatCooksCordova.IfyourfirstgameisatLa
NoviayouwillneedtocheckinatCooksCordova(thefieldsareverycloseto
eachother).
IfyouareplayingyourfirstgameatCoxSportsParkinLaderaRanch,wewill
haveacheckintableatCoxFields.
Thereare"PlayeroftheGame"medalsforeachpoolplaygame.Ifyouhave
notpickedupyourcheck‐inpacketspriortoyourfirstgame,pleaseidentify
yourplayerofthegameandbesuretogivethemtheirmedalsassoonas
possible.
MATERIALSREQUIREDATCHECK‐IN
Thefollowingmustbepresentedatcheck‐in:
1. ATeamRostercompletedontheattachedform(15playersmax).All
teamsarelimitedtotheplayerslistedontheverifiedroster.Noplayer
maybeaddedorchangedafterthestartofyourfirstgame.Athletes
whohaveplayedtravelballafterMarch31arenoteligible.
2. A2017USA/ASAVTDcard(thiswilltakecareofitems3,4,5and6).

Noinfieldpracticeallowed.CooksPark1,2and3haveareasdesignatedto
warm‐uppriortogames.Warm‐upsmaynotbeconductedinanyareaother
thanthosedesignatedareas.**Nowarm‐upsorsofttossinthegrassyarea
betweenthesnackbarandfields2and3atCooks.Forthefirstgamesof
thedayatCooks,youmayarrive1hourbeforethegametimetowarm
up...butpleasenobattoballcontactatCooksbefore8amonSaturday
and9amonSunday.Youmaythrow,butpleasenopingofbatsuntil
8amonSaturdayand9amonSunday.Pleasedonotplaymusicuntil

SCOREKEEPING
Thehometeamistheofficialscorekeeperforallgames.
Hometeamforpoolandbracketplaywillbedeterminedbyacointossduring
thepre‐gamemeeting.EachteamwillpresentacompletedLine‐upCardto
theumpireatthepre‐gamemeeting.
GAMETIMELIMITS
All8Ugamesinthetournamentaresix(6)inninggames,unlesstimelimits
describedbelowarereachedpriortothecompletionofsixinnings.
All10Uand12Ugamesinthetournamentareseven(7)inninggames,unless
thetimelimitsdescribedbelowarereachedpriortothecompletionofseven
innings.
POOLPLAY:Inpoolplay,nonewinningwillstartafterone(1)hourand
twenty(20)minutes.Gamesmayendinatie.Playwillbestoppedatone(1)
hourandthirty(30)minutes(dropdead).Ifatthistimethehometeamis
battingandisleadingorhadgainedatieinthebottomoftheincomplete
inning,thescoreatthetimeplaywasstoppedwillbethefinal
score.Otherwise,thefinalscorewillrevertbacktothelastcompleted
inning.Thegamewillendifthehometeamisatbatandleadsafterone(1)
hourandtwenty(20)minutes.
ELIMINATIONPLAY:Foralleliminationgames(exceptthechampionship
game),nonewinningwillstartafterone(1)hourandtwenty(20)minutes.If
regulationplayendsinatie(eitherbytimeorinnings),theUSA/ASA
tiebreakerwillbeineffectbeginningwiththeseventhinningfor8Uorthe
eighthinningfor10Uand12Uorthefirstinningtostartaftertheone(1)

MERCYRULE
Thefifteen(15)runleadafter3,12after4and8after5inning"MercyRule"
willbeineffectforalldivisions.TheMercyrulewillalsobeineffectduring
championshipgames.
GAMESCOREREPORTING
Thehometeamforeachgamemustprovideanofficialscorekeeper.The
umpireforeachgamewillmaintainascorecardtoreportthefinalscorefor
eachteam.Arepresentative(coach)fromeachteamwillalsosignthecardat
theendofthegame.Theumpirewillturninthescorecardalongwithacopy
ofeachteam'slineupslipaftereachgametoatournamentofficial.
PROTESTS
Therewillbenoprotestfilingspermitted.Anydisputesinvolvingruleswill
beresolvedbytheumpireatthattime.Allcallsmadebytheumpirewillbe
final.Allplayerineligibilitydisputeswillberesolvedbytheon‐siteCAPO
tournamentofficial.

Manager,CoachandCrowdEtiquette:Managersandcoachesareresponsible
fortheirteam,staffandfansbothonandoffthefield.Allloudartificialnoise
makingdevicesandpoundingthebleachers/fenceswillnotbeallowedonor
nearanyplayingfield.Unrulybehaviorwillnotbetolerated.Improper
conductduringgamesoranywhereonthepremisesmayresultinteam
disqualificationfromthetournament.Thereiszerotoleranceforalcoholand
smokingonthefield/parkpremises.Ifanyoneissuspectedtobedrinking,
undertheinfluenceofalcoholorothersubstances,theymaybeaskedtoleave
thefieldfortheremainderoftheday.Anyoneejectedfromagamewillbe
askedtoleavethepremisesfortheremainderofthegame.Asecondejection
duringthetournamentwillresultintheremovalofthatpersonforthe
remainderofthetournament.
