Holiday Homework
Summer is around the corner!!!! The scorching summer wind & unrelenting
heat of May & June makes us all look forward to the long summer
vacation, a time for relaxation and enjoyment. So, students sit back,
relax, watch entertaining & informative movies, visit friends & relatives.
As important as it is to rest & enjoy, it is also important to continue to
learn. Strike a balance between work & play & allow yourself to grow in
the process. Let vacation time be a doorway to creativity, learning,
growth, joy, happiness & above all –bonding.
CLASS:IV
“Hours are happiest when hands are busiest.”
So when Holiday homework has been designed in such a way so as to channelize the
boundless energy of children, to enrich their enquiring mind to inspire creativity. Our main
aim is to see the children in a radiant form: a source of bliss, energy and light.
MATHEMATICS

I am a 5 digit number between 40,000 and 50,000 . My first and last digits
are same. The sum of my thousand, hundred and tens digit is 15.
My tens digit is 3 times my hundreds digit which is an even number.
What number am I ?

Ask your parents to tell your telephone number (landline) to you. Write the
numbers with periods, write it’s number name. Do this exercise with your 5
friends/ relatives also. Arrange them in ascending & descending order.
 Learn and revise counting from Smallest five digit number to Greatest six
digit number.
 Do practice of all the work done in class.
 Learn tables from 2 to 15.
 DO page no. 24,37 in math book.
 Do mental math exercise of chapter 1
Note: Holiday’s Home-work should be done in separate file in
decorative manner.
MORAL SCIENCE
 Write down five health mantras on a chart.
 Write a short paragraph on “How do you want to spend your summer
vacations.”
DANCE & MUSIC
1. Write 5 Sargam on music note book.
2. Listen any two Non-filmy Patriotic and Folk songs. Write them in music note
book.
ENGLISH
1. Read newspaper daily. Search nouns, pronouns adjectives, verbs and make five
sentences every day.
2. Read story books and write at least five stories in your own words.
3. Taking the help of any book or encyclopaedia, write the information and facts
about any five birds and animals.
4. Make a list of all the things that you would like to do with your Grandparents.
5. Revise all work thoroughly from book and notebook of formative assessment -1
Note-1.Do written work in A-4 lining sheets
2. Do pasting work in scrap book.
GENERAL KNOWLEDGE
 Make “A Story Book” with picture pasting on scrap file.
 Make “A Beautiful Chart” on Great Inventors with their inventions.
COMPUTER
1. Differentiate between Hardware and Software.
2. You must be reading the newspaper daily. Collect the prices of CDs, Keyboards,
Printers, CPU, Mouse from the IT supplement which comes weekly with every
newspaper. Make your own price list.
ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES
Use coloured sheets to make your holiday homework EVS file. Make a nice cover.
Use your imagination and creativity. The content should be of 7- 8 pages only.
1. 'Health is wealth’- To ensure the general health of your family, you should make
sure to increase the intake of water . Suggest five measures to take water in
different ways during the day. Write the recipe of two such health drinks. Take help
from your parents to write the recipes. Make them during the holidays and enjoy
with your family.
2. Watch Discovery / Animal Planet channels every week and prepare a detailed
project about any 2 animals / birds with the help of your family members.
NOTE : Read each chapter thoroughly and learn well with their spellings for FA1
