Volunteer Position:
Regional Board Member
Term of Office:
Three (3) years, renewable twice
Accountable To:
Regional Director and Regional Board President
Time Commitment:
Approximately 40 hours annually
Financial Commitment:
$5,000 Give/Get
General Description:
The NPH USA Regional Fundraising Board is integral to our success and
directly enables us to meet the needs of our children. Regional Fundraising Board Members serve as
ambassadors for NPH in the community and help increase financial support for and public awareness
of our mission.
Responsibilities:
1. Regularly attend meetings of the Regional Fundraising Board.
2. Make a significant personal financial contribution annually to the organization that reinforces
your commitment to our work. We expect that Board members consider NPH USA one of their top
charities for philanthropic support.
3. Attend and promote special events, Celebrando a los Ninos Gala, Pequeno tour, Golf
tournaments, 5K, etc.
4. Introduce new individual supporters (goal of 10) to the organization through special events,
sponsorship, meetings, etc.
5. Connect businesses, churches, schools and other civic groups (goal of 3) to host events or
speakers, become institutional sponsors, etc.
6. Support efforts to cultivate and solicit individuals and organizations including reviewing
prospect lists, making introductions, meeting 1:1 with donors, making thank you calls, year end
renewal calls, writing thank you notes.
7. Implement your personal Impact Plan on an annual basis, which outlines your plans to
personally support and rally others to support NPH USA.
8. Support and Promote sponsorships - Sponsor a child or an NPH home, promote child
sponsorships, university student sponsorships and home sponsorships.
9. Visit and Promote NPH travel opportunities homes within one year of board appointment if
at all possible.
10. Stay informed about the organization’s mission, services, and programs – and share your candid
and creative input into our goals and initiatives for the year.
Desired Qualifications:
1. Recognized leadership ability and experience – previous Board, fundraising or sales experience
strongly preferred
2. Confidence, strong network and passion for rallying support from family, friends and colleagues to
support NPH USA
3. An understanding of and commitment to philanthropy to support charitable causes in our
community
4. Sincere commitment to the mission of NPH
