Curriculum plan for Rainbow Christmas Number Autumn Rainbow will take turns sharing /pulling crackers and putting items on a tree. Taking turns opening advent calendars. Christmases around the world- symbol/ images of traditional Christmas dinner, crackers, presents. They will use their pegs for bags/ coats and be recognising faces on named pegs. Role Play- setting up dinner table In Maths we will use number songs such as the first day of Christmas and will incorporate a countdown to Christmas calendar into our daily routine. Building familiarity with Christmas images and stories. We will count items on a tree together and take turns placing objects on the tree. The rainbow children will put on and take off layers of outdoor clothing such as scaffs, gloves and hats. He we will build independence in areas such as; zips and communication requests. The children will independently access TEACCH activities. Using tinsel, glitter and Christmas themed materials to produce textured art work. Using glue/ tape to add items to images. Making snow: cornflower and shaving foam- sensory tables. Using books, messy play and whiteboards to encourage mark making and increase familiarity with letters. Christmas and number songs Requesting symbols for tinsel, etc. Christmas textured items in corporate in to sensory time. Recognising items from home and requesting. Dancing and singing. Pouring and mixing from one container to another. Messy play- glitter sand. Soft play: balance, circus skills, swimming, and sensory circuits: Supporting independence in building strength and balance. Finding items of certain Christmas colours.
