MimioTeach Firmware Update

MimioTeach Firmware Update
One quick fix for many issues with the MimioTeach (or the white "Mimio bar") is to do a firm
upgrade. It is a simple process and I have outlined it below. I would recommend completing this
process in every Mimio classroom, even if you are not having issues to ensure you have the latest
MimioTeach firmware.
To update your MimioTeach (white "Mimio bar") firmware:
1.
Launch MimioNotebook software on your computer
2.
Plug your MimioTeach directly into your computer via the USB cable. The cord that powers
the MimioTeach is actually a USB cable connected to a black AC adapter that you plug into
an outlet. Take off the black AC adapter and plug that end of the USB cable into your
computer. (Be sure to launch your MimioNotebook Software first.).
3.
This will allow a firmware update to be done on the MimioTeach bar. It may take a few
minutes and you should see an "updating firmware" message on your computer during this
time. Also, the light on the MimioTeach bar may turn amber or flash green. You may also
get a message on your computer asking you to “disconnect and reconnect your Mimio
device.” Simply unplug the MimioTeach bar from the USB port, wait 2 seconds, and plug
back in.
PLEASE NOTE: If you the light on your MimioTeach bar continues to flash green for more than 3
minutes and no message is showing on your computer, try unplugging the unit from the
computer and plugging it back in.
4.
When the "updating firmware" message goes away, and the light on your MimioTeach is
solid green (not flashing), unplug the unit from the computer and place on board and plug
into wall outlet as usual.
5.
The light now should be solid green, assuming your USB Receiver / Hub is plugged into your
computer.
6.
Recalibrate and see if your issues are solved.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
