as a Non-editable feature for display purpose. (Symbolic PMI)
• Export jt to older versions (9.0, 9.5, and 10.0). 9.5 is the default

• No UI Provided, must edit the SEPVTRN.ini
• Disable Use Solid Edge Resolution =1

STEP Investment
STEP:
• As part of Solid Edge ST7 we provided the ability for all users to participate in
a Beta test of a new STEP Translator.
• In ST8 we have replaced the legacy STEP translator with the NEW STEP
translator.
• New STEP translator supports all previous options with the exception of:
• Exporting Solids as Wire Frames (No-longer supported)
• Export Solids as Surfaces (No-longer supported)
• STEP Enhancements:
• Heal and Stitch option removed from Import UI (Healing is now integrated
into the translator)
• AP242 Support
• AP242 consolidates AP214, and AP203 into a single protocol.
• AP242 - provides the gateway to importing and export PMI through the
STEP format.

• IFC file format is the industry standard used in the exchange of data to BIM
type systems Revit, Tekla etc..

• Solid Edge provides the capability to merge COBie properties into the IFC file
during the export process.
• COBie Properties are defined in an external file (IFCProperties.xlsx) found in
the Solid Edge program folder.
• User Modifies the Values, and or adds properties as required.
• Rules defining the format, and usage of the IFCProperties.xlsx are captured
within this document.
