Role Purpose
Providing day to day EC&I maintenance and breakdown activity and thus deliver
into an ethos of maximum plant reliability, flexibility, availability and overall plant
performance whilst attaining high standards of Quality, Health Safety &
Environmental performance. Management and practical application of fault

finding, repair and maintenance associated to EC&I systems and equipment
within a modern EfW Power Plant or heavy process environment that will ensure
safe, effective EC&I maintenance, and timely diagnosis, execution and repair of
plant and equipment is provided throughout the plant.
Key Responsibilities

Perform troubleshooting, routine, preventative, scheduled and major repair
maintenance on all power plant electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic,
IT and Digital control systems. Including testing and calibration of EC&I
systems and field equipment in accordance with OEM requirements and
prudent industry practice.

Working knowledge of preventative maintenance/defect repair/
interrogation on: DCS/ SCADA, PLCs, Analogue & Digital Instrumentation
and Transducers, Emissions Monitoring and other equipment related to
the site.

Full understanding of P&IDs and Loop Checking and ability to read
Electrical Drawings.

Familiarity with Instrumentation calibration routines, both Digital and
Analogue and ability to use calibration tools – 4 to 20mA and Druck, etc.

Ensure equipment compliance with the environmental management
system and consent requirements.

Quality control of all work associated with the Department.

Co-ordination and management of contract support organisations.

Ensure that all EC&I activities, spares and information are correctly
inputted into the MMS and available for use.

Responsible for assisting the Maintenance Team Leader with all aspects
associated with EC&I equipment repairs and keeping detailed history
records. utilising the business computerised maintenance management
system.


Responsible for carrying out all equipment spares assessment, ordering
and control to ensure high availability of the plants equipment.

Implementing the companies’ health, safety and environmental
management policies.

Carrying out responsibilities as defined in the companies Safety Rules and
associated procedures.

Participate in company/site HSE initiatives including the HSE forum
activities.

Undertaking rigging and lifting operations of motors and other equipment
utilising overhead and mobile cranes. Operating forklift trucks and other
site vehicles.

Assisting with the development of, and work within, the EC&I section
budget constraints.

Participation in projects and initiatives as delegated by the Maintenance
Team Leader.

Implementing the company’s health, safety and environmental
management policies and actively participate in company/site HSE
initiatives including the HSE forum activities, including procedure reviews
on a periodic basis.

Identifying and taking proactive measures to improve plant operational
shortfalls and augment engineering solutions.

Assist in the co-ordination and planning of daily maintenance activities
with the Maintenance Team Leader, Plant/Safety Controller to ensure
maximum plant reliability & flexibility is achieved to high standards of
quality, safety and environmental performance.

Supervise and develop the Contract Support Organisations to deliver
scheduled, preventative, breakdown, planned maintenance and
operational activities.

Maintenance and servicing, repairing and history recording of all EC&I
plant equipment.

Quality control of designated work associated within the maintenance
department.

Ensure strict compliance with software and plant modification procedures
and directives.

Assist in outage planning, scheduling and co-ordination.

Supporting other UK business if the need arises.

To be on call and to change working patterns where necessary in order to
meet the needs of the business.

Stand in for the Maintenance Team Leader in their absence.

Work towards multi-skilling activities associated with Electrical C&I and
Mechanical duties, including assisting operations staff as required.
Relevant training will be provided.

Building and maintaining a culture of team work where team members
progress towards Operational and Maintenance dual-skilling and want to
contribute to their full potential.
Qualifications and Experience

HNC/HND in an Engineering discipline.

High level of practical Maintenance & Operational experience.

A good understanding of all HSE aspects is a fundamental requirement,
NEBOSH or IOSH qualification is preferred.

Knowledge of Energy from Waste or Power Generation is preferred with at
least 5 years experience in one of these industries.

Good mechanical knowledge of maintaining and repairing an operating
facility.

Other Information
Location – Lincoln but from time to time you may be expected to support FCC at
one of our other sites.
Direct reports – Maintenance Team Leader, EC&I Technicians and Mechanical
Technicians.
