DIRECTIONS TO THE
INDIANA GOVERNMENT CENTER SOUTH
402 WEST WASHINGTON STREET
Indiana Government Center South is located between Washington Street and
Government Place [which goes for 1 block between ‘South’ and Indiana Government
Center North.] and between West Street and Senate Avenue. The front of South is
just west of the Statehouse on Washington Street.
From I 65S Coming from the Northwest: Follow 65S to the Martin Luther King
Drive/ West Street exit. Continue South on Martin Luther King/ West Street to the
area between New York Street and Maryland.
From I 65N Coming from the Southeast: Follow 65N to the Market Street exit. Go
east on Market Street. Take Market to East Street, turn left [South]. Take East Street
to Washington Street, turn right [West.] Follow Washington Street to the area
between Capitol Avenue and West Streets.
From I 70W Coming from the East: Follow 70W to 65N. Take 65N to the Martin
Luther King Drive/West Street exit [exits from the left-hand lane.] Take Martin
Luther King Drive/ West Street to the area between New York and Maryland.
From I 70E Coming from the West: Follow 70E to the West Street exit. Turn left
[North] on West Street. Follow West Street to the area between Maryland and New
York Street.
From I 69S Coming from the Northeast: Follow 69S; it becomes S 37S. Follow 37S;
it becomes Binford Way. Take Binford Way south; it becomes Fall Creek. Take Fall
Creek south to Capitol Avenue south. Turn left [South.] Follow Capitol Avenue to the
area between Michigan Avenue and Washington Streets.
From Meridian Street Coming from the North: Take Meridian Street to 38th Street.
Turn right [West] on 38th Street. Take 38th Street to Capitol Avenue. Turn left [South]
on Capitol Avenue. Follow Capitol Avenue to the area between Michigan Avenue and
Washington Streets.

PARKING IN THE VACINITY OF IGCS
1. Washington Street Government Garage: probably about 50
spaces for visitors and they fill up quickly.
2. Senate Street Government Garage: should have space for visitors
when the General Assembly is not in session. During session,
there will be no room for visitors.
3. Eiteljorg/ State Museum Garage: first driveway west of West
Street on the right. The garage is underground and the area that
is closest to government center is the Eiteljorg area and people
can exit from their stairway from the garage.
4. Convention Center Underground Garage: beneath the park just
east of the Westin Hotel. It can be entered and exited from either
Washington Street or Maryland.
5. Sport's Spectrum Garage: just north of One North Capitol. Can
be reached from east lane of Capitol Avenue.
6. 151 Building Garage: in middle of block between Capitol and
Illinois. Can be reached from the right eastbound lane on Ohio.
