




Bearing width: Intermediate and panel ends: Minimum 60mm.
Manufacturer and reference: Kingspan Insulated Panels, vertically-laid translucent polycarbonate Kingspan
Day-Lite Klick wall light system for standard internal and external non-corrosive inland environments. Not
suitable for BS EN ISO 13788: 2001 - Class 5 environments.
 Profile reference: Kingspan Day-Lite Klick, KS500 DLKK.
 Material: Co-extruded, multi-wall polycarbonate rigid thermoplastic wall light. Kingspan Day-Lite products fully
satisfy the requirements of the National Building Regulations achieving Euro Class B internally and National
Class AA and Euro Class BROOF(t4) externally. All products achieve a minimum classification of B-s2,d0
when tested to EN 13501-1: 2007.
- Cover width: 500mm, multi-wall polycarbonate thickness 40mm.
- Colour: Clear or Opal. [delete as appropriate]
 End laps: N/A.
 Fasteners: As determined by clause 220A.
 Number and location:
- For Klick: As determined by clause 197A, but with each Fix Key Bracket fixed to each intermediate support
using not less than two fasteners.
 Accessories:
- Standard or Thermally broken [delete as appropriate] head, base and jamb aluminium extrusion supplied in
6m lengths with 3m snap-in cover plate
- Finish: Plain Mill / Polyester Powder Coat Colour :…….. [delete as appropriate]
- Fix Key Brackets, plain mill aluminium, required one per intermediate fixing position per panel
 Thermal transmittance (U-value) 1.0W/m²K calculated using the method required by the Building Regulations
Part L2A (England & Wales) and Building Regulations Section 6 (England & Wales) or (Scotland).
- Manufacturer’s 25 year structural and thermal guarantee required.
- Air leakage rate of 3m3/hr/m2 at 50Pa, based on the assumption that the full building envelope is
constructed using Kingspan panels.
 Other requirements:
- Internal face of Kingspan Day-Lite Klick to be air sealed into the aluminium head, base and jamb extrusion
by use of seals provided.
- Factory made pre-formed extrusion mitre corners.
- Manufacturer’s 25 year product guarantee to be available on project completion and be fully transferrable for
future changes of building ownership.
- PVC barrier tape applied between aluminium extrusion and fix key bracket and cold rolled cladding rails to
prevent a bi-metallic corrosion.
- Panels manufactured under the following ISO standards: ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environmental),
OHSAS 18001 (Health & Safety) and ISO 50001 (Energy).

 Determine the number and location of cladding fasteners recommended by the cladding manufacturer to resist
wind loads calculated in accordance with BS 6399: Part 2 Standard Method and BS 5427: Part 1.
 Calculate wind loads on roof and wall cladding appropriate to location, exposure, roof height, building shape
and size in accordance with BS 6399: Part 2 Standard Method and BS 5427: Part 1.

 Fix Key Bracket fasteners: Self-drilling, self-tapping screws.
- Type(s), size(s) and drilling capacity: As recommended by fastener manufacturer to suit type and thickness
of supports, and thickness of cladding panels.
- Screw material: Grade 304 Austenitic Stainless Steel.
- Heads: Low profile head.
 Fasteners for vertical joint flashings / trims: As panel fasteners.
 Fasteners for panel bearers: As panel fasteners but with 15mm diameter washers.
 Flashing fasteners: Ejot 5.2mm Bulb-Tite rivet or similar.
275 CONTINUITY THERMAL INSULATION
 PIR insulation board with any gaps between board and panels, fill with Premier Sealants (01724 864100)
Firefoam (class B1 rated) or similar, fire rated gun applied canister urethane insulation.
 Placement: Secure and continuous with cladding / covering insulation.
300A PROFILE FILLERS GENERALLY:






Fixing: Seal the perimeter edges of the filler to abutting components using a polycarbonate compatible gun
grade sealant.
 Locate where shown on drawings and wherever necessary to close off behind the ends of the wall lights
against supports, at wall light ends only.









Colour: To match external face of cladding.
Workmanship as section Z11.
Fixing: Stitch to external face of panels at 450mm centres using Ejot 5.2mm Bulb-Tite rivet
Sealing: Single line of 4mm diameter butyl rubber sealant Class A, ref: NFRC TB36 and a 6mm bead of
polycarbonate compatible gun grade sealant, site applied between flashing and panel.

Fixing: Stitch to internal face of wall light at max. 450mm centres using Ejot 5.2mm Bulb-Tite rivet.
Sealing: Single line of 6mm bead of polycarbonate compatible gun grade sealant, site applied between
flashing and panel.
 End laps to be air sealed with Film backed Butyl tape / PremSeal SWRPIO or similar, or gun grade sealant.
