The development of this team is an integral part to Gymnastics Nova Scotia meeting its objectives in relation to this funding initiative. The purpose of the team is to identify and assist those athletes who may have the potential to be a part of the Canadian Junior National Team and their coaches. To best meet these goals the team will be selected based on the current Elite Pathway Model set out by Gymnastics Canada in keeping with the goals of our National Sporting Organization. May 2016 3 Team Eligibility and Criteria 1. Age eligibility will be as follows: 1. 2nd year Junior = Y8 2. 1st year Junior = Y7 3. 2nd Year Novice = Y6 4. 1st Year Novice = Y5 5. 2nd Year Elite 4 = Y4 6. 1st Year Elite 4 = Y3 7. 2nd Year Elite 3 = Y2 8. 1st Year Elite 3 = Y1 2. Top athlete from each Year is guaranteed a spot on the team 3. Remaining spots will be filled with highest ranking athletes from testing regardless of age 5. Team will have 15 Members 6. This group of athletes will be identified as the NS MAG HP Team 7. Team year will run September to August 8. Team athletes [along with their personal coaches and clubs] will receive additional opportunities for funding, clinics and competitions as directed by the MPC and Junior Age Group Sub-Committee 9.
