School's MissionA^ision • Staff and students must be aware of the school's mission and its meaning. • ONE TEAM, ONE GOAL, NO LIMITS! 2. Planning and Preparation for Learning • Utilizes Pacing Guides and Instructional Focus Calendars (District and School) to develop thorough lesson plans-aligned with state standards. • Lessons are designed with clear, measurable goals. • Lessons are designed to motivate and actively engage all students in learning. • Design lessons that break down complex tasks/concepts to address all learning needs and styles-DIFFERENTIATION. • Anticipate students' misconceptions, difficulties and confusion and incorporate multiple strategies and activities to overcome them, • Incorporate a mix of top-notch multicultural learning materials. • Devise and implement appropriate assessments that monitor students' learning and acquisition of skills/concepts. These are in addition to school-wide interims and tri-weekly tests. • Organize and arrange your classroom to maximize student involvement and learning. 3. Classroom Management • LIMITS! Be specific, direct, and consistent in communicating and enforcing high expectations vWth NO Gain student respect and create a climate in which disruption of learning is unthinkable. Implement a program that successfully develops positive interactions and social-emotional skills. Successfully establish class routines up-front so students maintain them throughout the year. Successfully develop students' self-discipline, self-efficacy, and sense of responsibility. Maximize lesson momentum and use smooth transitions to get the most of every minute. Be alert, poised, self-assured and nip virtually all discipline problems in the bud. Get students to buy into highly effective system of incentives linked to intrinsic rewards. Make attaining LEARNING GAINS the main driving force to motivate student involvement. 4. Instructional Deliver^' • Exude high expectations and convince all students that they will master the material.
