SINOPSIS MATA
PELAJARAN
This course presents the operations research principles and techniques for solving
decision-making problems in the industry using mathematical models. The techniques
include decision analysis, linear programming, transportation model, assignment model,
network model, and forecasting. The course emphasizes the process of model
development, algorithm design, computer programming development and solution
analysis.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
By the end of this course, students should be able to:
1.
To describe the quantitative analysis approach.
To understand the application of quantitative analysis in real situation.
To use computers and spreadsheets models to perform quantitative analysis.
Define and describe six (6) main terminologies widely used in operations research
(OR) techniques;
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
Explain six (6) stages for solving problem in OR study;
Distinguish six (6) types of problem related to decision making problems;
Design and develop six (6) models using OR techniques;
Work in team to write a computer program within a given time frame;
Communicate group project deliverables in writing and oral presentation.
