How to Use the Class Summary Report? The “Class Summary Report” is a report whose features continue to grow. The ability to “filter” the information you are looking for is essential. Some of these reports take a substantial amount of time to load, so patience is important. New Location The report can now be accessed from the Home Page. Select the Analyze Tab, Classroom, the Class Summary. Near the bottom of the pop-up window, you will notice the following message. This message will appear whenever first loading the report or when one selects View after altering the filtering choices. The amount of information being brought into the report will determine the wait time. If selecting Assignments for all four terms, be prepared to wait. Suggestions The following pages suggest some filtering choices. These are not the only ones available, simply a sample of what some of the more common selections might be. The examples being utilized are from Mathematics – 8. Analysis Tree: (identifies which set of data user wants to work with) Outcome Analysis (shows curricular assessments) Personal and Social Development (shows PSD assessments) Show Results from: (selects how specific one wants to report to be) Focus Area (summary of the Term and Focus Areas) Outcome (summary of the Term, Focus Area and Outcomes) Assignments (assignments listed, with no “roll-up” calculations) Filter By: (identifies where the results come from, always one level less than the previous selection) The choices are: Course Focus Area Outcome Depending which one is selected, it will impact your next choice. For instance, if you select Course, then you will select Term next. If you select Focus Area, you can select Term and Focus Area next. Filter On: (allows user to be very generic or specific with the detail of the report) The options available depend upon the previous choices one makes. Below are the selections one makes for the following reports. Again these are simply suggestions meant to act as a training tool. A. All assignments, up to and including current Term. B. All assignments, for a Focus Area. User must select Term and Focus area under the Filter On: category. C. All assignments, for an Outcome. User must select Term, Focus Area and Outcome under the Filter On: category. D. All Focus Areas, for all terms. E. Focus Areas, for a specific term. This report would be helpful prior to report card time. F. Outcome Results, for a specific term. This report would be helpful to compare a student’s performance on each outcome. G. PSD Results, for a specific term. This report would be helpful to show a summary of the PSD results for a pending term. Note: To generate a report click on the View icon.
