We’re delighted to offer contactless debit cards
to our FlexPlus, FlexDirect, FlexAccount and
FlexBasic current account customers.
It’s fast, easy and secure
With your new debit card you can make contactless payments of up
to £30 in seconds. You can do this at a number of places including
supermarkets, restaurants and coffee shops.
The important bits
A contactless payment is as safe and secure as using your PIN to make
a payment.
If you see any unusual transactions on your statements, or if your card
is lost or stolen, don’t hesitate to call us on 0800 30 20 11 – we’ll do all
we can to help.
We recommend that to keep your money safe you remove your card
from your wallet/purse whilst making a contactless payment.
Please note: Some retailers may have terms and conditions
of their own which we have no control over. If you’re unsure,
please check with them before making any purchases.
Step 1. Getting started
Before you can use the contactless feature of your card you
will need to:
activate contactless by first making a transaction using your PIN
or, for Chip and Signature cards, simply make a purchase
by signing.
Step 2. Making your first contactless payment
1. L OOK for the symbol – if you don’t see it don’t
worry, you can still use your card in the normal
way with your PIN or signature.
2. T OUCH your card against the reader – simple
as that. From time to time you may be asked to
enter your PIN or complete a signature payment
– this is just an additional security measure.
3. W
AIT for a few seconds while the payment
is processed.
4. A
PPROVED – your payment is complete,
and remember you can ask the retailer if you’d
like a receipt.
And it’s still a debit card too
Contactless payments are something extra that your card can do.
You can still use your contactless card to:
pay for goods and services
access cash machines
access services such as account information and mini-statements
via branch or cash machines.
