Does Your Game Have Great Art? Promote Your Indie Title with a
Partnership with VGA Gallery
Indie games often can take greater artistic risks with throwback graphics or
distinctive visuals not found in the AAAs. With the low costs of game
development and the democratization of the field through the rise of
independent studios and publishers, the industry is currently witnessing a
renaissance of games that overlap with the art world. Games like Journey
have raised the bar in terms of a focus on aesthetics and nontraditional
gameplay. If your game has unique or amazing graphics, you should consider
working with an art gallery to promote your game. Art prints make for great
incentive items on kickstarter projects, help promote awareness of your game
and may even help you earn some extra income for your studio. If you would
like to expand your audience to both the gaming and art worlds in Chicago,
please contact Jonathan Kinkley, Co-Director of VGA (Video Game Art)
Gallery, at 773.668.6797 or [email protected].
