● PyroCom was established in July of 2015 by the young women of the Ann
Richards School.
● We are collaborating with the Austin Fire Department (AFD) to find an
easier method of communication between firefighters.

These are examples of some of the older models of the radio
systems

● While researching, we had to factor in many different variables to make
sure our design would work
● It had to be durable, heat- resistant and waterproof as well as easy to use,
visible in case of emergency
● We searched already existing products that we could incorporate into our
design and that could give us a better understanding of how such things
work

● Our new additions to the radio system only
cost $42 more than the original system
