Stretching Prevents Injury, or Does It?

By: Zakary Meradi
 People
stretch to supposedly prevent injury
and improve performance.
 Another reason stretching is so popular is
that it loosens out muscles.
 Stretching is done to improve you range of
motion.
A
new study reveals that stretching does not
actually prevent injury.
 Stretching actually activates a protection
reflex that decreases range of motion.
 Stretching has no benefits and if you don’t
stretch then it will not harm you.
If you don’t stretch then there is no point in
doing so because it will not benefit you.
 If you do already stretch then stopping suddenly
is bad because your body will not be used to it.
 If you continue to stretch it will not harm you
but if you stop at once your chances of injury
increase.
 You should just start playing your sport and not
stretch if you have never did because it will
bring your heart rate up automatically.
