The Forestry Scholarship Fund was
established when it became clear that there
was a shortage of skilled foresters in
Australia. The aim of the fund is to provide a
sustainable financial base to support
undergraduate and post graduate students.

General Guidelines for 2015 NFMP scholarship applicants
Applications
Applications for National Forestry Master’s Program (NFMP) Scholarships must be
submitted to your course coordinator by no later than 31 March of the year of commencement of
study. Your institution is responsible for forwarding your application to the Forestry Scholarship
Fund after they have admitted you to their Master’s program.
Applications for all scholarships must be made using the ‘Application for scholarship’ form.
Eligibility for scholarships will be based on the following criteria:
Enrolment and acceptance into National Forestry Masters Program (NFMP) by no later than 31
March of the year of study.
IFA student membership, noting that the first year is free.
Note that the eligibility criteria of scholarships offered may vary from that offered in previous
years. Not all applications will be successful.
Value of scholarships
A one-off National Forestry Master’s Program (NFMP) scholarship to the value of $2,000 may
be offered.
Note that the value of scholarships offered may vary from that of previous years.
Notification and disbursement of scholarship funds
NFMP scholarship applicants will be notified in writing of the outcome of their application.
Note that the successful applicant notifications will be issued on condition of confirmation of
your enrolment from your university.
Disbursement of scholarship funds to successful applicants will be subject to both parties
signing a Scholarship Agreement.
In the case of a NFMP scholarship being offered - the payment will consist of one instalment of
$2,000 being paid on return of a completed Scholarship Agreement.
