Ways and Means
Position description and responsibilities:
The Ways and means position supports the PTO Executive Board with the following administrative
duties:

Provides expertise and wisdom to the Executive Board on all PTO related issues and events;
Supports all Executive Board Officer roles and responsibilities as needed;
Acts as a consultant to the Executive Board and Committee Chairs;
Be an expert on Robert’s Rule functionality and adherence at all PTO meetings;
Have a complete understanding of PTO By-laws;
Prepares, compiles, and distributes volunteer request and sign-up forms at the beginning of
each year;
Maintains volunteer database throughout year for all PTO sponsored events;
Prepares and discusses status of volunteers and event information with Committee Chairs, CoPresidents, and Executive Board;
Serves as a liaison between volunteers and Committee Chairs to ensure adequate coverage for
each PTO sponsored event;
Attends all necessary Committee meetings and share Event/Board related information as
needed;
Serves as a Liaison for school staff Outreach Coordinator;
This is a minimum of a one-year term position;
The Ways and Means position will be held by a minimum of two (2) and a maximum of three (3) PTO
members each school year. The responsibilities described above will then be distributed evenly.
Whenever possible, Executive Board members are expected to assist with PTO sponsored activities and
fundraising events. Specifically, when possible this position will serve as cashier during PTO sponsored
events.
All Executive Board members are expected to attend and actively participate in scheduled Executive
Board and general PTO meetings. All appointed Executive Board members are entitled to notice of
meetings, to attend in person, to present matters for consideration and to take part and vote on any
and all business matters (Unless otherwise noted in the Code of Regulations, all decisions/actions are
based on majority vote.).
