GETS Password Manager
Registration instructions
The GETS Password Manager self-service tool allows you to change/reset your network
password or unlock your account yourself. It offers you more flexibility and convenience,
and minimizes the need to call the GETS Consolidated Service Desk.
But first, you’ll need to complete the GETS Password Manager registration. You can then
use GETS Password Manager to change your network password or unlock your account for
any reason, including:
Your password is soon to expire (or has already expired).
You’ve forgotten your password and need to create a new one.
You are locked out of the network due to incorrect password attempts.
Instructions
Register your profile
1. Open the registration link provided by e-mail from your agency.
2. Enter your agency network ID (also called Windows or Novell ID) and password.
Then click “Next.”
Note: Forgot your network ID or password? Call the GETS Consolidated Service
Desk at 877-GTA-3233 for help. Then resume registration using your network ID
and password newly assigned by the Consolidated Service Desk.

3. You’ll see two categories of security questions – Self Service and Help Desk (as
shown below). Select two questions in each category, and provide answers you will
easily remember. (Answers are not case sensitive). Click “Next.”
Note: For subsequent password resets, when you return to the tool you’ll need to
answer the Self Service security questions. When you call the GETS Consolidated
Service Desk you’ll be asked to answer the Help Desk category questions.
4. You’ll then see a registration confirmation screen (see below). (If not, call the GETS
Consolidated Service Desk at 877-GTA-3233.) You have now successfully completed
registration.

What is the purpose of the GETS Password Manager tool?
The tool allows self-service network password resets and unlocking your account. First,
register and create a profile, then use the tool to reset your password or unlock your
account online any time. This offers you more flexibility and convenience, minimizing the
need to call the GETS Consolidated Service Desk.
What passwords will I be able to reset online?
Your network password (sometimes called Windows or Novell password) can be reset within
the tool. Application passwords are not addressed by GETS Password Manager.
When should I use GETS Password Manager?
You can use the tool to change/reset your password for any reason, including the following:
Your password is soon to expire (or has already expired).
You’ve forgotten your password and need to create a new one.
You are locked out of the network due to incorrect password attempts.
What training is needed for use of GETS Password Manager?
A User Guide offering step-by-step instructions will be available after the tool is introduced
to your agency. No additional training is required.
Is there a limit to how many times I can reset my password using the tool?
Your password may not be changed/reset more than once per day using the GETS Password
Manager tool. If you need an additional password reset the same day, please call the GETS
Consolidated Service Desk at 1-877-GTA-3233 for assistance.
How often will my password need to be reset?
Your agency determines how often your password expires. GETS Password Manager does
not change this agency setting.
What are the requirements for my password?
Your password must meet the following requirements:
• Must be between eight and 14 characters in length
• May contain upper and lower case characters
• Must contain at least two and no more than five numbers or special characters
• May contain these characters: “<>$~’`!@#%^&*()-+{}[]:,.?/|\
• May not be the same password used in the past two years or in the past eight
password changes
• May not contain the user ID as part of the password
Can I still call the Service Desk for a password reset?
Yes, you can call the GETS Consolidated Service Desk at 877-GTA-3233. The agent will
reset or unlock your password, then walk you through how to use the GETS Password
Manager tool. You’ll then have the flexibility of self service for future password reset needs.
Can I access GETS Password Manager from my BlackBerry or iPhone?
Access from mobile devices is not supported at present.
What Internet browsers are supported by GETS Password Manager?
All common Internet browsers (i.e. Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox) can
display the GETS Password Manager tool.
