florida`s first emerging preeminent state

FLORIDA’S FIRST EMERGING PREEMINENT
STATE RESEARCH UNIVERSITY
University of South Florida was recently named the first emerging preeminent state research university by the Florida Board
of Governors. USF’s classification is in part due to the focus on student success. Over the past five years, USF has experienced
unprecedented growth in both retention and graduation rates while improving incoming student profile. Being defined as an
emerging preeminent state research university will allow USF to benefit from additional target research investments which will
aid in the development of USF’s Morsani College of Medicine in Downtown Tampa.
