Machine- Teams must work together to become different machines using only their bodies as the pieces. Give teams a set time to create their machine and then time to present. Machine examples include: toaster, car, airplane, washing machine, telephone, and lawn mower. Capture the Flag- Split into two teams and divide a set area into two. Each team hides an object (the flag) on their side of the play area. The goal of each team is to get to the other side, capture the other team’s flag, and return to their original side without being tagged. If a player is tagged they have to go to a designated ‘jail’ space. To get out of jail other team mates must make it safely to the other side and tag jail members who then have to walk back to their own side before trying to get the flag again. Sun Catchers- Using transparent plastic lids or plastic bottles (you can ask students to bring recycled ones from home), create a mixture of 2 parts water to one-part glue and use it to paste pieces of colored tissue paper to the bottle. Punch a hole in the top of the sun catcher and tie with string so they can be hung up. Simon Says- One student is selected to be Simon, while the rest of the students gather in front of them. Simon gives commands, starting with “Simon says ”. If they do not include this at the beginning of their command, other students should not follow the command. If they accidentally do, they are out. Puzzle Craft- Use old puzzle pieces to form crafts. Students can paint them and then create any shape or design they would like. Balance- Form a circle with every other person alternating facing in or out, holding forearm to hand with the person next to them. Those facing in lean in while those facing out lean out, allowing them to support each other. Screaming & Running- Have kids take one big breath, and run while screaming. When they can’t scream anymore, they stop in place. See how far they can get! Picture Frame- Glue popsicle sticks in a square to create a picture frame, making it as wide as desired by using more popsicle sticks. Students can paint, color, or decorate their frame using art supplies on hand. No Bake CookiesIngredients: 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder 2 cups white sugar ½ cup milk ½ cup butter 3 cups quick cooking oats ½ cup crunchy peanut butter 1 tablespoon vanilla extract 1. However, when a player is tagged they must lay on their back with their arms and legs up in the air like a dead ant, to come back alive four players must tag one of each of their limbs. After someone has become a dead ant three times, they are it. Food PaintSupplies: flour sugar salt food coloring plastic cups 1. 2. 3. 4.
