II. ENERGY STAR Products: http://www.energystar.gov
ENERGY STAR is a government-run program intended to promote energy efficiency by labeling
the most energy efficient products in each product category with the widely recognized
ENERGY STAR label. The labeling strategy makes it easy for consumers to identify and
purchase energy-efficient products that offer savings on energy bills without sacrificing
performance, features, and comfort. The program is run jointly by the US Environmental
Protection Agency and the US Department of Energy.
Products can earn the ENERGY STAR label by meeting requirements set forth in ENERGY
STAR product specifications, including, but not limited to the following:




Qualified products must deliver the features and performance demanded by consumers,
in addition to increased energy efficiency.
If the qualified product costs more than a conventional, less-efficient counterpart,
purchasers will recover their investment in increased energy efficiency through utility bill
savings, within a reasonable period of time.
Product energy consumption and performance can be measured and verified with
testing.
Labeling will effectively differentiate products and be visible for purchasers.
There are a wide range of ENERGY STAR products, services and resources available,

not all ENERGY STAR products are eligible for incentives.
