Air Products Welding Scholarship Instructions Eligibility The Air Products and Chemicals scholarship will be awarded to a student pursuing or planning to pursue a two-year welding certificate or degree at an accredited academic institution in the United States. Applicants must show proof of high school diploma or GED upon start of welding program. Applicants must show a minimum cumulative high school grade point average of 2.5 with a minimum of a 3.0 grade point average in welding courses. Applicant must be authorized to work in the United States without restriction and plan to attend an accredited academic institution located within the United States. Priority will be given to those individuals residing or attending school in the state of Pennsylvania. (Residence is defined as having lived in the specific area for a minimum of one year). Students who have completed one year at an accredited welding program will be eligible for the Air Products scholarship and may apply for the award for the final year of schooling. Students who have immediate family members currently employed by Air Products will not be eligible for consideration. (Immediate family members include: parents, children, siblings, grandparents, grandchildren, immediate step relatives, and adopted children). Application Process Students who wish to be considered must: 1. Complete application and submit by March 14th. 2. Provide teacher recommendation 3. Complete a minimum 200-word essay outlining why he/she should be selected and how he/she would benefit from the Air Products scholarship. Selection Final decisions will be made by the Air Products selection committee with the winners being communicated once final decisions have been made. Awards An award of up to $2,500 will be given annually. Scholarship is renewable annually upon maintaining a 3.0 grade point average. No awards will be paid directly to the recipient.
