4 Column Page Wizard: Version 9.3 Scope of Use The 4-Column Page Wizard can be used whenever relatively simple 1- to 4-column tables are needed and you choose not to use custom tables in the Message Body. Examples of common usage Department Listing: The 4 column page wizard is often used when you have a list of all departments with additional contact information, such as Key Contact, Phone Number and Email Address. Boards & Committees Listing: The 4 column page wizard is often used when you have a list of boards and committees with the date of the regularly scheduled meeting, the time of the meeting and the meeting location. Sortable Table Form: The 4 column page wizard is often used when you are creating a table of data and wish to have the table sorted alphabetically by any column. It should be noted that the sort is not visible in the page wizard but the resulting page displayed in a browser will be sorted by the column you choose to sort. © Copyright 2010. Details Tab - Standard Fields Most of the fields on the details tab are covered in the Standard Details help page. Tabs 10 - 24, etc. This page wizard is designed to accommodate a maximum of 99 rows of data including New Table rows and Column Heading rows. If you feel you will need more than 99 total rows we recommend you use the Free Form Page wizard and create your table by Insert - Table. Within the free form text area you can create as many rows of data as needed. Details Tab - Links Table Bold: Checking this box causes the text in the appropriate column to render in boldface. There is a check box for each column. This box is not checked by default. © Copyright 2010. Italic: Checking this box causes the text in the appropriate column to render in italics. There is a check box for each column. This box is not checked by default. Color: This color selector indicates an alternate link color to be applied to text in the appropriate column. If this selector is modified to choose anything except black this color will be substituted for the Column Text color defined on that site's Global Site Preferences (.sitepref) form. Selecting black in this selector will cause the Column Text to once again be drawn from the .sitepref. There is a color selector for each column. NOTE: The sitepref form can only be modified by VTH support staff. Link: Checking this box causes the link defined in the Link Name / MAILTO: column (pink) to be applied to the text in the appropriate column. If you are using a column to activate an email link MAILTO: must precede the email address. There is a check box for each column. This box is not checked by default. NOTE: This page wizard only allows one link per row. Sort: Checking this box causes the rendered table to sort alphabetically or numerically on the indicated column. The table rows do not sort on the 4-Column Form Links Table page wizard but only on the rendered Web site page. You can sort by only one column, and it will be the same column for all New Tables regardless of the Column Headers. There is a check box for each column. This box is not checked by default. Body Before Table: Checking this box causes the Message Body to be rendered to the Web page before the Links Table. Unchecking this box causes the Links Table to be rendered to the Web page before the Message Body. This box is not checked by default. Same Column Width: Checking this box causes all columns in the Links Table to be rendered with the same width ratio. Unchecking this box causes all columns in the Links Table to be rendered in a width ratio based upon the longest item in each column. This box is not checked by default. New Table: Checking this box creates a new table and activates all other options for these tabs. In addition, checking this box changes the row color to indicate that the information in this row is being used to define a new table. The field located in Column 1 is used to give the table a title, which will display above the rendered table. If you do not want descriptive text as a table heading you must enter a space character with the space bar to activate the new table. NOTE: You can define multiple tables by checking this box multiple times in this section. REQUIRED © Copyright 2010. Col Head: Checking this box creates column headers for the New Table. In addition, checking this box changes the row color to indicate that the information in this row is being used to define columns. The column header row must be in the row immediately following the row used to indicate a New Table. To activate a column, enter text into the field located in that column. NOTE: Any column without a header will not display in the rendered table. If you do not want descriptive text as a column heading you must enter a space character with your space bar. A "space" is defined as a character and will allow the column to appear. Multiple tables do not have to have the same number of columns. REQUIRED Content Fields: Each row has a content field for each column. If a Column Header has been defined for the column, text entered into this field will be rendered to the Web page. The first Content Fields must occur in the row immediately following the defined Column Headers, but rows may be skipped after this point. Link Name / MAILTO: This is the relative or absolute path to a Web page on this or any other site, or a MAILTO command to be presented as a link. If you are using this column to activate an email link MAILTO: must precede the email address. This link is applied to the column indicated with the Link check box. NW: This checkbox allows the resulting link on the website to open a new browser window or tab when clicked. This is used most often for links outside of your website.
