Game Development Officer
ORGANISATION
Hockey NSW is the not-for-profit state sporting organisation responsible for the development,
governance, promotion and delivery of hockey programs throughout NSW.
Hockey NSW is located at the Sydney Olympic Park Hockey Centre.
The vision for Hockey NSW is for Hockey to be an accessible game of choice for all ages, stages
and abilities.

POSITION OUTLINE
1. Primary Objective
The primary objective of this role is to create and implement development programs to enhance
recruitment and retention activities for players, and officials in the Region.
This is primarily a development role that involves the coordination and delivery of a variety of
programs to retain and recruit players and officials
2. Reporting relationship
The position reports to the Game Development Manager of Hockey NSW.

SELECTION CRITERIA
Knowledge and Qualifications
 Strong understanding of Hockey Development Pathway in Region
 A working knowledge of the sport coordination and delivery
 HockeyEd “Beginner Coach” Accreditation
 Senior First Aid
Skills
 Highly developed networking and consulting skills to gather support from colleagues and to
gather market information to bring to fruition business development opportunities
 Demonstrated ability to improve recruitment and retention in a sporting environment.
 Effective interpersonal skills (including ability to influence) with all levels and ages of
hockey participants, volunteers and administrators
 Ability to work in a team environment
 Competent in Office Software
 Ability to consider long-term strategies and their value and effectiveness
 A strong work ethic with a demonstrated preparedness to work to achieve HNSW goals.
Other Requirements
As a member of Hockey NSW staff the Game Development Officer will display characteristics such
as reliability, punctuality and courtesy, and be self-motivated and well presented at all times when
representing Hockey NSW.
Working hours will be dictated by the Game Development Officer to fit into their schedule. Some
weeknight and weekend work may be required from time to time and this is up to the Game
Development Officer to manage their individual hours. Over time will not be paid in this position.
In accordance with Child Protection legislation all candidates will be required to complete and sign
a Prohibited Employment Declaration Form and a Working With Children Consent Form. Selection
of the successful candidate will be based upon the results of child protection screening and
relevant reference checks.
