[DECISION] Draft PAR P1914 on Next Generation FrontHaul Interface (NGFI) [Motion] “Approve 1914.1 PAR as presented final-20150930_NGFI_WG_PAR_detail.pdf with the following changes: 1) Change Project designation to 1914.1 2) Use the following text for 5.2: This standard specifies: 1) Architecture for the transport of mobile fronthaul traffic (e.g., Ethernet-based), user data traffic, and management and control plane traffic. 2) Requirements and definitions for the fronthaul link, including data rates, timing and synchronization, and quality of service. The standard also defines functional partitioning schemes between Remote Radio Units (RRUs) and Base-Band Units (BBUs) that improve fronthaul link efficiency and interoperability among various vendors, and that facilitate the realization of cooperative radio functions, such as massive Multiple-Input-Multiple-Output (massive MIMO) operational modes, Coordinated Multi-Point (CoMP) transmission and reception, etc. 3) Convert section 5.4 to present tense 4) COM/SDB chair has an editorial license to implement other changes as necessary 5) Remove the third bullet point in 8.1 6) Appoint Huang Jinri as the Chair of NGFI WG” - Glen moved and Niranth seconded. Communication Electroacoustics WG: P269, P1652 — P269 subgroup met face to face in June and via teleconference in July. — A new PAR (revised P1652) will be submitted for approval. 7.10. Reports from ComSoc Standards Committee (Old status) – Deferred to next meeting DySPAN — Committee is meeting regularly about every month. Recently, a face to face meeting was held in Berlin. — P1900.1 meeting regularly on active revision PAR — P1900.5.1 has a 2 year PAR extension request on the upcoming September 2015 NesCom agenda. — P1900.6b - Corr1 and Amendment B in process — P1900..7 has a 1 year PAR extension request on the upcoming September 2015 NesCom agenda however this is only to accommodate sponsor balloting.
