Education Lottery launches holiday games
-One holiday game will offer $500,000 top prize RALEIGH – The N.C. Education Lottery will begin selling on Tuesday, Nov. 2, four new
instant scratch-off games with holiday themes. The new games are called $500,000
Jingle Jackpot, Holiday Riches, Winter Green Doubler and Happy Holidays!.
The launch of the new games marks the beginning of the holiday season for the N.C.
Education Lottery. All four tickets carry colorful holiday designs. The tickets are
designed not only to provide some holiday fun as part of the NCEL’s current collection
of instant scratch-off ticket games, but so that lottery players can buy them as gifts for
co-workers, family members or friends.
“Each year, our holiday-theme tickets are popular with our players and we know that
many enjoy giving lottery tickets as gifts,” said Alice Garland, acting executive director
of the N.C. Education Lottery. “While we want people to enjoy these cards, we also
want to remind our players that you must be 18 years of age to play the lottery in North
Carolina and lottery tickets should only be given to people who are old enough to play.”
The $500,000 Jingle Jackpot ticket will sell for $10. The game will feature more than
$11.2 million in prizes, including four top prizes of $500,000. The game also includes
1,600 prizes between $100 and $50,000 and 98,500 prizes between $25 and $50.
Players scratch away 15 Christmas Bell symbols in the play area to see if any of their
numbers match one of the six winning numbers under a Jingle Bell. If they reveal a
“Bow” symbol, they win that prize instantly. If they reveal a Gift Box symbol, they win
double the prize shown. And if they reveal a Starburst symbol they win $50 instantly.
Tickets for the second holiday game, Holiday Riches, sell for $5 each. The game offers
more than $8.5 million in prizes, including six top prizes of $100,000 and 89,000 prizes
ranging from $25 to $100. Players scratch off 15 Christmas ball ornaments to see if their
numbers match any of the four winning numbers to win the prize shown under the
ornament. If they reveal a “Win” symbol, they win that prize instantly. If they reveal a
“Money Bag” symbol, they win double the amount of the prize shown. And if they win an
“ALL” symbol, they win all the prizes shown on their card.
Winter Green Doubler is a $2 game and contains $3.7 million in prizes, including six top prizes of $20,000 and
94,000 prizes ranging from $10 to $50. Players who reveal a “Gift” symbol in their play area win the prize shown and

those that reveal a “Star” symbol win double the amount shown.
The final holiday game is called Happy Holidays!. The $1 ticket offers $2.9 million in
prizes and features a top prize of $1,000. Players scratch off their play area and if
they reveal three like amounts they win the amount shown. If they reveal two like
amounts and a “Jingle Bell” symbol, they win double the amount shown.
