Mandates: Title VI: Civil Rights Act of 1964
Title IX: Education Amendments of 1972

Prohibit discrimination based on sex, race,
color, national origin, sexual orientation,
marital status, age, parenting status,
pregnancy, campus team membership,
etc.

RIGHT TO PRIVACY

Mandate: Family Educational Rights and
Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974:
– Protects the privacy of student education
records
– It is the right of students to have restricted,
the disclosure of personally identifiable
educational records.
