Tournament Proper Information

Tournament format ~ All play is Gross ONLY within divisions
CHAMPIONSHIP and 1st DIVISION- will consist of any team
whose combined handicap sums to 11 or less and any team wishing to
compete for the CHAMPIONSHIP. We anticipate that teams competing
for CHAMPIONSHIP will be divided into two 12-team divisions based
on Friday’s score. Any team competing for CHAMPIONSHIP and not
qualifying will be moved to the appropriate division as defined below.
DIVISIONS 2-6 will be deter mined by the Low Man’s handicap (i.e.
12 lowest handicaps play in the 2nd division, next 12 low handicaps
make up the 3rd and so on). Ties, at the point where the divisions break,
will be broken by the #2 man’s handicap.

ALL TEAMS will qualify fr om BLUE TEES on FRIDAY. After
that, teams will be placed into divisions and play from the appropriate
tee set by the tournament chair.

In the event of ties for first place in any division (at completion of final
round), teams will enter a sudden death playoff. All subsequent ties
will split.

An optional SKINS pool will be conducted…$40/team for the weekend. On Friday, there will be one Gross pool (three-tie-all tie) and one
Net pool (three-tie-all tie) for the entire field. The Net pool will be full
handicap (max. of 1 stroke per hole). On Saturday and Sunday, there
will only be Gross skins. The pool will be split in two – one pool for
the teams playing the PEWTER tees (two-tie all tie) and one pool for
the teams playing the Blue tees (two-tie-all tie).

An optional Player’s Pool: $50/team. Each Division’s pool will be
split as follows: 1st – 50%, 2nd – 30% & 3rd – 20%


On behalf of the Pewter Cup Tournament Committee and Berkshire
Hills Country Club, I’d like to formally invite you to our Thirty Fifth
Annual Pewter Cup Classic.
Enclosed is this years program and tournament notes as well as your invitation to participate in this years event. Our golf course is in outstanding condition and our wonderful clubhouse, pool, and amenities all
await you for an enjoyable summer weekend.
As always, I know you’ll be pleased with our tournament format and the
committee welcomes any suggestions that you feel might further improve this event. Please feel free to call our pro shop should you have
any questions.

MEDALIST PRIZES ~ All Divisions: Sat. & Sun. pay daily low
($150).
TROPHIES ~ Winning teams will be pr esented with Pewter Cups.
*All ties will be broken by USGA Recommendation of matching cards*
Pre Tournament Information

The field will consist of 100 teams. Applications will be handled on
a first come, first serve basis and only PAID applications will be reviewed for tournament entry.

All Players should report for their tee time 30 minutes prior and check
in at the registration table at the Pro Shop

A practice round will be permitted any WEEKDAY prior to the tournament and only after your confirmation of entry. Call our Pro Shop
for information. (413) 442-1451.

We have provided a space on the application for teams to indicate their
preferred tee time for Friday’s round. We will try to honor all requests.
If you do not have a need or strong preference please do not cir cle
either selection. The committee will try to be as fair as possible in assigning tee times.

We will e-mail a complete listing of Friday tee times to valid pro
vided e-mail addresses by June 16th. Should you not provide an
email address, please call our proshop: (413) 442-1451 to obtain
your Friday start time.


Golf club storage is available in the Pro Shop.
Driving range will be open ½ hour before the first tee time until 6 PM
Coffee and doughnuts will be available every morning.

Lunch will be served on the grill on Friday from 11am-2pm
Upon completion of Saturday round, dinner will be served in tavern
Upon completion of Sunday’s round, Pizza and Wings will be served
