City of Launceston has always actively assisted in the training of and creation of employment opportunities for engineering students. Every year we will offer a cadetship to one 2nd year Engineering student to continue with their 3rd and 4th year of Civil Engineering studies at University. The recipient of the cadetship will be offered 10 weeks work experience in November-January, at the completion of their third year of study. The variety of work to be offered at City of Launceston will include the following experiences: Construction field work Operational maintenance field work Contract administration and specification preparation Design and drafting Analysis and concept design in traffic engineering, drainage and catchment management.
