Centyfield Eventing & Dressage Academy Whitestone Exeter EX4 2HP [email protected] 07800 734082 Centyfield Fun Weekend – Dressage/Flatwork Camp Thank you for your interest in our dressage / flatwork camp. We look forward to being able to welcome you and your horse for a fun weekend! So that you know what to expect we have tried to set out below a little bit about the weekend: the programme and what you may wish to bring with you. But we have found it helps to be fairly flexible as plans for activities can change along the way to accommodate individual or group requests. How to Find Us: If you’ve not been to us before, please check out the directions on our website: www.centyfield.com for best route for horsebox / trailer. When you get to us, we’ll show you where to park. Parking is on hard-standing. Programme: Day 1 - - Arrival is from 5pm onwards – giving you and your horse time to settle in. If you would like to come earlier and go for a hack or ride in the school, that’s no problem at all, just please let us know. Welcome Dinner – we normally meet in the house around 7.30pm for drinks followed by a welcome dinner where everyone gets to know each other. This is the opportunity to work out what everyone wants to focus on, levels of experience etc. so we can divide up into groups / set times for the following day Day 2 - - Breakfast – normally around 8/8.15am We split into groups, usually of 2 or max 3, with each group riding both morning and afternoon We provide mid-morning snack, lunch and afternoon tea – so no-one goes hungry! Early evening: option of quiz / watching Sarah work one of her horses or just chill out Dinner - Repeat of above through to the afternoon Depart from 4pm onwards (hopefully tired but happy!) - Day 3 On days 2 and 3, there are 2 flat ridden sessions per day, including the option to practice test-riding, polework (to help with lengthening/shortening paces, develop the walk pirouette etc.), as well as a valuable insight from Sarah on ‘the judge's persective’! Accommodation Accommodation for our guests is in our comfortable mobile home / caravan, fully furnished with tea/coffee making facilities, fridge, oven (though you won’t need it as we provide all the catering), heaters and hot water (including shower). Bedding is provided in the form of individual sleeping bags with freshly laundered sleeping bag liners. If you’d prefer to bring your own bedding that’s fine (even better if you can let me know as it saves me making up the bed!) In the main mobile home there are 4 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 single, 1 with bunk beds (bottom bunk is fine for smaller adults who don’t mind it a bit cozy) and a double sofabed in the lounge. Please let us know if you’re coming with a friend and are comfortable sharing a double bed (we make it up with 2 individual sleeping bags). In our second touring caravan there is 1 double and 2 good-length single bunk beds, though there are no separate bedrooms as such, so you have to take it in turns to get dressed! What to bring: Pillows are provided but if you have a strong preference for a particular type then please feel free to bring your favourite with you. We provide hand towels and a couple of bath towels but would suggest you may also want to bring one of your own. A torch is also useful Catering All food is provided. Please let us know as soon as possible if you are vegetarian or have any other specific dietary requirements or food intolerances. Breakfast - Served in the house: typically a mix of toast, cereal, cold meats and cheese, hard-boiled eggs. On the second day, we normally do a full cooked breakfast Lunch – sandwiches, soup & a roll (if it’s cold), crisps Dinner – Served in the house: full home-cooked meal and dessert Snacks – biscuits, home-made cakes Drinks – water, squash, orange juice, coke all available No need to dress for dinner! For your horse: Accommodation is in brand-new, temporary stables. These are covered, in a barn formation, so you both stay nice and dry. We provide rubber matting and bedding of miscanthus grass. If you have a different bedding requirement, then please bring it with you. We put one bale of bedding in your stable on arrival and provide a second bale to top this up with over the 2 days.
