ME 462 Capstone Design Pressurized Reactor Presented by: Rita Russell Adam Schulte Shahid Osman Tiffany Urias Objective – To design an enclosed container to safely encase test tubes held in a reaction rack, be able to supply heat from an outside source, and provide a pressurized anaerobic environment while transmitting a magnetic field for stirring. Design Specifications • Exterior case with removable reaction tube rack – Fixed size of tube rack; racks with different tubes interchange • Thermo-stated case with heating 25-150 ºC • Pressure range of 0-100 psig; vacuum desirable • Non-magnetic for all materials used – Stirring of contents via magnetic field through the case – Minimize distance between tube rack bottom and the outside bottom • Quality of the seal is critical for small scale runs (evaporation) Gantt Chart Start QFD Evaluate Engineering Benchmarks Eval.
