Old Town Recreation Center Junior Coyote Classic Rules/Registration Form Game Play (Overall) o All games will be played on 10’ baskets, and a 28.5 ball will be used o All games will consist of Two- 22 minutes halves of running time Time will stop on whistles the last 2 minutes of each half o If overtime is needed it will be a 5 minute overtime of running time, with no time stop If a 2nd overtime is needed it will be a sudden death. First team to score wins. o Teams will be allowed 2- 60 second time outs, 1- 30 second time out.(Time stops during) In the event overtime is needed teams will be allotted 1- 60 second time out. o Warm-ups will be 5 minutes. Half time will be 5 minutes. o Teams can have a maximum of 14 kids per team o Teams can have up to 2 coaches on the bench. However only 1 coach may stand during the game. o All Teams are guaranteed 3 games o Players must play a minimum of 6 minutes per game Game Play (Specific 5th/6th) o Open Play with all defensive schemes allowed except no pressing in 1st half. o Open play with all defensive schemes allowed. Pressing will be allowed except when a team is ahead by more than 10 points. In this case the team with the lead will no longer be allowed to press. Violation of the no press rule will result in a warning, followed by technical fouls for the remainder of the game. Game Play (Specific 3rd/4th) o Man to Man defense is the only allowed form of defense o No pressing until the final 5 minutes of the game Pressing will be allowed. However if a team is ahead by more than 10 points they will not be allowed to press. Violation of the no press rule will result in a warning, followed by technical fouls for the remainder of the game. o Players attempting a foul shot must start behind the foul line. However if on an attempt they cross the free throw line, the shot will still count. Players will be allowed to shoot from a 12’ marking.
