She covered information about her work helping students plan for their career, gave an overview of all services, talked about interaction with parents and recruits, and shared some statistics about job placement. Board members inquired about the relationship with Alumni Affairs and if/how we build relationships with Alumni in the field. The presentation was followed by a lively conversation about opportunities for our students to network with professionals. In addition, many good ideas were put forth by board members which included making connections between local production companies and our animation program, the discussion of a Villa sponsored animation festival, and other opportunities. New Business: Student Satisfaction Survey Questions. Brian gave an overview and showed the board members the new questions added to the Student Satisfaction Survey for 2014. These new questions were created by the College’s Student Services staff with the hopes of ascertaining new information about the student experience. Questions had to do with the Academic Success Center, Career Services, how students allocate their time, and questions about food and security. Brian will present the findings of the survey at the next board committee meeting in January. 1 Recruitment Update Brian shared about the progress of recruitment for the spring 2015 and fall 2015 classes. A handout was shared and discussed. New student enrollment for spring is strong and up from last year. The additional time in January before the new semester begins will also benefit recruitment. Visionary Plan Update Brian shared that he had made presentations to the President’s Cabinet and the group has decided to move forward with plans to implement new initiatives from the Visionary Plan for fall of 2015. Villa will launch the new support program for students with learning differences. The development of the program is led by an interdisciplinary group from the College. Recruitment will begin in January. Villa will also launch the intercollegiate athletics for the fall of 2015 with men’s and women’s soccer and men’s and women’s basketball.
