Lake Country Soccer, Inc. Sportsmanship Guidelines In the spirit of competition of any sport, it is important to remember the following adage: “Officials call the game. Coaches coach the game. Players play the game. Parents support the game.” Coaches and parents are a tremendous asset to our youth athletes in soccer and Lake Country Soccer is extremely grateful for your cooperation, support and loyalty. We expect athletes to hold themselves to high standards of sportsmanship and hope parents, coaches, referees and spectators will themselves serve as role models for our young athletes by exhibiting high standards of sportsmanship as well. We must never lose sight of the fact that the participants in youth athletics are only youngsters. Lake Country Soccer wants to ensure the games are fair, positive and enjoyable experiences for all the children and adults involved. A soccer game should be friendly and unifying – a spirited social and athletic occasion for all players, coaches, referees, parents and spectators. Officials and game management personnel are there to help make this a positive experience for everyone, especially the athletes. Please treat all accordingly. In keeping with our mission, Lake Country Soccer expects all players, parents, coaches, referees and spectators to adhere to the following guidelines of good sportsmanship: • Know and understand the laws of soccer • Show respect for the officials and their decisions • Show respect for the opponents at all times • Recognize and appreciate the varying skill levels of all athletes participating • Maintain self-control at all times • Show a positive manner to all when cheering Disciplinary actions may be considered toward players, coaches, parents, and spectators that do not adhere to the expectations above. Think about what you are doing during a game! Remember to enjoy the journey and experience with your child. Uphold the spirit of the game.
