Gretna School Mission Statement
We, the parents/guardians, students and staff of Gretna School work together to create a positive
and safe environment which fosters academic, social and extracurricular achievement.

Nov 22 – Picture Retake Day
- Classroom pictures for Kindergarten,
and Grade 5
Nov 25 – Half Day of School-Morning Classes only
If you have not already done so, please contact the
school with your child’s billet information as soon as
possible. Parents are also asked to discuss this
information with their child so that in the event of a bus
cancellation, your child will be well informed. It is
important for them to know who their billet is.

Grade 7 News
We collected a total of 344 items for the
Rhineland Food Bank as part of our Food Drive!
Thank you to EVERYONE who brought items. The
Grade 7 class was able to deliver the items, have
a tour of the facility and ask questions about this
great organization. Your generosity made this
possible- thank you!
November 25th - Half Day P.D.
Please remember that Friday, November 25th will
be a half day of school as teaching staff will be
participating in a Professional Development
afternoon.
Classes will be dismissed at 12:00 with buses
running at that time as well.
Remembrance Day Ceremony
We will be having a Remembrance Day
Assembly on Thursday, November 10th .
Parents, family and friends are welcome to join us for this
special assembly which will begin at 2:30 in the school gym.
Recess Breaks
As the weather is turning colder, we want to remind parents
that students will continue to spend recess breaks outdoors.
Please make sure your children are dressed to play outside!
Lunch time
If your child stays for lunch, please remember to send along
the cutlery that your child needs for their lunch each day.
The school’s supply is limited.
