Dr. Asawa completed her doctoral degree in clinical psychology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She completed her clinical internship at Baylor College of Medicine and her post-doctoral fellowship at Children’s Medical Center Dallas. Dr. Asawa specializes in working with children and families to evaluate and address many of the common problems that arise in the home and school settings. She has extensive experience evaluating and treating children and adolescents in private practice, university clinics, and hospital settings. Dr. Asawa has also developed and facilitated workshops and treatment groups for both parents and children. She utilizes evidence-based assessments and treatment recommendations, incorporating both cognitive-behavioral and family systems approaches. Dr. Asawa is an out-of-network provider for private insurance plans. However, families can be provided with the necessary paperwork to file a claim with their insurance company.
