7 MONDAY HOURS OF OPERATION – 7:00AM – 6:00PM* The School Holiday Program is a fun, inclusive and flexible program for children aged 5 to 12 years who are attending primary school. A range of activities and experiences are on offer everyday that build upon your child’s skills, knowledge and understanding, as well as their curiosity and imagination. Professional and qualified staff are on hand to help children build their cooperation skills, respect and independence, all the while ensuring they enjoy their holidays in a safe, fun and welcoming environment. Excursion A is charged at $70 Excursion B is charged at $75 Excursion C at $80 Excursion D is charged at $93 Big Day Out is charged at $87 and is an optional excursion for the first 30 Grade 4/5/6’s who book. Some days require the children to bring money for a lunch, or an extra activity – see the program for when this is requested. Once your enrolment form has been lodged you are obliged to pay for ALL DAYS ticked regardless of nonattendance or sickness, unless cancellation is received by our office in writing by 5pm Monday FEES MUST BE PAID PRIOR TO ATTENDING THE PROGRAM. ADMINISTERING MEDICATION Medical conditions must be outlined in the enrolment information for each child, where applicable. Current medical action plans must be updated & submitted each year together with a risk minimisation plan where necessary. All medication must be signed in and given to staff each day. All medication must be in the original package labelled with the Child’s name clearly identified. All medication must be within its use by date. SUNSMART Please ensure your child has a broadbrim hat with them everyday of the holidays. BEHAVIOUR SUPPORT HOW TO BOOK 1. Bookings received prior to Friday 16th December by 5pm will be processed in date order and in accordance with DEEWR’s “Priority Access Guidelines”. 2. Enrol online at www.geelongaustralia.com.au/shp or in person at Ariston House, Pakington St Geelong West 3. A confirmation letter and invoice will be issued within 7 days of enrolling. Where possible we email and mail out this information. An invoice is confirmation your child/ren are enrolled in the program. HOW TO PAY You will receive an estimated invoice which will contain payment information. Payments are due prior to attending the program. REFUNDS There will be NO REFUNDS or exchange of days. The holiday program staff will work with families to support positive behaviour of all the children. CHILDREN WITH ADDITIONAL NEEDS WHAT SHOULD MY CHILD BRING? All children need to come to the program with healthy play lunch, lunch, afternoon tea, fruit and a ‘named’ drink each day (no soft drinks). Please ensure that children bring food which doesn’t require refrigerating or heating. Please let the supervisor know if your child has any allergies or reactions to certain foods. It is recommended that you do not pack any nuts or eggs in your child’s lunchbox. Appropriate clothing should be worn (comfortable clothes) during program. A raincoat must be packed for unexpected wet weather. Please ensure children wear appropriate footwear at the holiday program. No thongs or singlets. TRANSPORT All excursion buses are booked through McHarrys Buslines. Where stated community buses or council cars may be used. Children may walk or ride for some excursions. This is stated at the program. The City of Greater Geelong welcomes children aged 5 – 12 years with additional needs into the School Holiday Program. For further information please contact administration at Ariston House CANCELLATIONS If you wish to cancel any bookings it is required to be in writing to the centre. If a cancellation is received prior to 5pm Tuesday 3rd Jan 2017 fees related to that booking will no longer be charged and this will be confirmed by the City of Greater Geelong. If you do not have a response by the Wednesday 4th Jan 2017 please contact 5272 4741. Any cancellation received after Tuesday 3rd Jan 2017 at 5pm will be charged at daily fee. We have lots of different experiments and activities planned for today, sandpit volcanoes, bottle rockets & balloon experiments. Also bring along a box for some cardboard creations. Centre based WHEELS & COOKING Get up and go with our ever popular wheels day. We’ll visit the skate park, ride around obstacles and get thoroughly exhausted. Bring your scooter or skateboard (in good working order) and a helmet. Spend the afternoon cooking up some tasty treats to refuel! Centre based/Routine outing EDWARDS POINT WALK Enjoy a leisurely loop walk around Edwards Point in St Leonards. Fish and chips for lunch & embark on a playground crawl on the way back. Bring $5 for lunch (pay on the day) Edwards Point St Leonards & Jetty Road Playground EXCURSION A: 9:30am - 5.00pm WEEK 2 WET N’ WILD WATER ROCKETS! Bring your swimmers, towel and a change of clothes today….we’re going to get wet! Help us make and then test out our water rockets and play all Monday 9th sorts of games that’ll get you wet!! Please bring bathers and towel and change of clothes! Lots of other activities on offer too. Centre based/Routine outing WATERWISE WETLANDS WALK Lets learn about bugs and keeping our waterways healthy, Water watch will be coming to educate us, then we will be making some bug crafts, we will stretch our legs with a visit to the Begola Wetlands. Tuesday 10th Centre based/ Routine outing HAMMER AND NAILS Wednesday 11th It’s back by demand! Time to bang and crash, and do a bunch of awesome nail crafts. Plus we will be walking down to pay the Man Shed a visit and find out what exciting projects they are working on! Centre based/Routine Outing Wednesday 11th – BDO for Children in Grades 4-6 Expanding the possibilities. Have your say in exactly what you want the future big day outs to be!! Buy supplies and cook some yummy and unusual treats and BYO electronic for the arvo. 9:00am- 4:30pm EXCURSION A SUN, SAND & SURF We are heading to the beach to play some beach games, have a beach scavenger hunt, rock pool rambles and cool off the in the water. We will then be helping to shape the Geelong community with ‘Our Future of Monday 16th Geelong’ with a member from City of Great Geelong running this activity, also providing us with a lunch. We will also have a visit from an author to help us write!! Centre based MULTICULTURAL DAY What can we learn about other countries? Games, food, craft, languages, festivals and traditions. Make a Chinese dragon, explore maps of the Thursday 19th country and test our knowledge. Then we’ll test our new found chop stick skills with a walk to the local Chinese restaurant. Centre based/ Lunch Provided ADVENTURE PARK Wednesday 25th Get ready for a big day of fun! From go-carts to jumping castles and water slides galore!
