 LaFarm is The Lafayette College Working Farm and Community Garden
 We are a year-round part of the college programming, and curriculum, and have a 3 season
growing season (April-November)
 We are 3 miles from the main campus
 We currently have under 2-acres in vegetable production, and plan to increase that acreage
dependent on funding between now and 2020
 We are run by the college Farm Manager, with many helping hands from paid staff, faculty and
student volunteers and excel scholars. We operate through funding from the Lafayette College
Office of Sustainability, and from revenue from selling vegetables to campus dining, our small
summer and fall, on-campus farm market and rental fees paid by community gardeners
Is this YOU?
 We are looking for a Summer Student Farmer starting this spring/summer w/ possible fall work.
 This person would help plant, weed, harvest, mow, trellis, mulch and generally maintain our farm
with help from other summer staff, volunteers and your farm manager. If special interest or skills
are demonstrated this person may be able to maintain certain crops or fields and make a real
impact in our local food system. Occasional maintenance or community garden help required.

 Available this summer
 Passionate about building community through sustainable and food based programs
 Interested in learning more about food justice, farming and your Lafayette College Sustainable
Food Loop
 Physically able to regularly lift things that are 20 pounds or more, spend stretches of time outside
in all weather, are able and willing to provide your own packable lunch, water, and sun protection
 Outgoing and excited to work as part of team
 Timely and able to complete projects both independently and as a group
