Elementary school in Buštěhrad – case study
•
Design of four new classrooms including
supporting facilities form teachers and
extension of a capacity of dining-hall and
kitchen;
•
Creation of a multipurpose space for meetings
with parents and friends of school,
presentations, school displays etc.;
•
Emphasis is put on increasing the quality of
internal environment – external shading in
summer time, system of mechanical ventilation
etc.;
•
Effective energy and sources management and
utilization of renewable energy resources that
might have strong educational potential.

ENERGY CONCEPT (PV)
Total yearly electric energy consumption model (profile used for design of energy system). Energy
consumption during summer holiday is minimal which means for example that produced energy from PV
system in these months is hard to be consumed.

CONLUSION
• School refurbishments overreach with their social aspect
the scope of building engineering and architecture
• Investigation of users‘ needs is essential
• Participation and involvement of all stakeholders are
important for successful completion
• Subsidy system setup can negatively influence the whole
refurbishment process
• SBToolCZ serves as a quality assessment tool for school
buildings and a guidline for thier renovations
