Grand Slam USA Youth Instructional Baseball Fall League
For Those Who Love to Play
Grand Slam USA is organizing a Youth Instructional Baseball Fall League. The league is for 8 through 13 year
olds who have a sincere desire to improve their baseball skills. The league will start August 18th, 2013. We
will be playing one six/seven-inning game (age depending) with a 1.5 hour time limit for eight consecutive
Sundays. Teams will compete at the age level they will be playing at in the spring of 2014. Games will be
played at Walnut Creek Little League. The cost to each player is $95.00 and includes 1 free lesson at Grand
Slam USA. We will try to make up all rainouts.
We are hoping for around 56 players per age group, which would be divided into four teams with fourteen
players on a team. Players competing at the 11 and 12 year old ages will be on teams together. This is an
instructional league designed to develop players’ skills and enhance in game instincts. Each team will have a
Grand Slam USA instructor present at every game to work with players on their skills and game situations.
Each team will need a volunteer coach to assist with filling out line ups, equipment, and game management.
Below is an outline of the league guidelines:
 Get players better through professional instruction and game repetition
 Every player will hit with free substitutions on defense
 A player can be removed during an inning to talk through skills or game situations with an instructor and
put back in if needed (this is why 14 players are put on a team)
 A player on the bench will be ready to replace another player in order to keep the flow of the game
moving
 If an instructor needs to talk to the whole team during an inning, there will be a 2 minute time limit on
the discussion as to not delay the game
 There will be no umpires or score keeping. The emphasis is on development and repetitions. (Parents
may volunteer to umpire from behind the mound and bases)
 Pitch counts will be kept for every pitcher
So that, we can have a good idea of the number of players that will be participating, we need your registration
form back by July 15, 2013. We will be contacting you by August 1st in regards to team rosters, schedules, and
league rules.
