September 2012 Phase II Water Rate Adjustments
Reflected on this month’s Utility Bill www.afcity.org Arts Council News Classes and Events Page 2 Phase II Water Rate Adjustments include implementa on of two new culinary block rates that were approved by the City Council on May 8, 2012. August is the first meter reading since adop on of the new rates. The City charges a block rate for any water consump on over the base allotment of 6,000 gallons per month. The two new culinary block rates have a unit price that increases as the consump on block increases. Meters were read in August to determine any water usage over the base allowance of 6,000 gallons. Users with meter readings that reflect water consump on over 6,000 gallons per month will be charged the base rate plus the appropriate block rate. Users who do not go over 6,000 gallons per month will only be charged the base rate and will see no adjustments to their u lity bill. Only those users who use over 6,000 per month will be charged the applicable block rate and will see this reflected star ng on this month’s bill, as well as on future meter reading monthly bills. Meters are now read in February, May, August, and November. The new culinary residen al Block 2 rate is $2.27 per thousand gallons of water used between 6,000 to 9,000 gallons per month. The new culinary residen al Block 3 is $3.07 per thousand gallons of water used above 9,000 per month. The new commercial, mul family, industrial and ins tu onal culinary Block 2 Rate is $2.04 for 6,000 to 9,000 gallons of water per month and the culinary Block 3 Rate is $3.07 above 9,000 gallons of water per month.
