Call for Artists: INNOVATION - Consumers Energy Innovation Center Exhibition

"INNOVATION" -- Arts and Cultural Alliance of Jackson County announces a call to artists for
an art exhibition at Consumers Energy Innovation Center, Downtown Jackson (165 W. Michigan
Ave.) April 15-July 15, 2016. Submissions are FREE and Consumers will pay rent to artists of
accepted works of art. This opportunity is for family-friendly, original, highly abstract, nonrepresentational work that could be described as futuristic, industrial and innovative.
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
· All artists 18 years of age are eligible to submit up to 10 entries each.
· Works may be executed in any medium and techniques in 2 and 3 dimensions for wall, pedestal
or installation. Work may not exceed 72" in its greatest dimension.
·2-D works must be properly framed with wire on the back or gallery-wrapped canvases, no
staples on the sides, with all sides painted. Works with sawtooth hangers on frames and canvases
will NOT be accepted. 3D works should be free standing or able to fit on a gallery pedestal.
Special installations must be provided by the artist and approved by Arts and Cultural Alliance
of Jackson County. Exceptions may apply.
FEES AND COMMISSIONS
· Artists may submit a maximum of 10 entries.
· A 20% commission to Arts and Cultural Alliance of Jackson County will be charged on all
sales made during the exhibition. Prices remain fixed during the show and must match the entry
form.
RENTAL RATES
· Consumers Energy will rent all accepted artwork. Rates start at $75 for three months and are
based on the purchase price of the artwork. For the full scale, please inquire at

DELIVERY AND PICK UP OF ARTWORK
· Accepted artwork must be delivered between 5 and 7pm to The Innovation Center on Monday,
April 11.
· Entries that have been in the exhibit must be picked up from The Innovation Center on Friday,
July 15, 5-7pm.
LIABILITY
Consumers Energy and Arts and Cultural Alliance of Jackson County will not be responsible for
works on the premises. Neither organization will be responsible for works delivered in any
damaged condition. Artists are encouraged to properly pack their artwork for delivery.

HOW TO ENTER
· Email [email protected] the following: your name, address, phone number, medium, a
paragraph about yourself and/or your artwork, up to 10 jpegs of the work.
Please label your image files as follows: Artist name, a period, and the title of your artwork. For
example: Smith.Landscape.jpg
Submit one image for 2D entries, and not more than 3 images for 3D work.
Image should not exceed a file size of 3MB or 300 dpi resolution.
CALENDAR
March 31, 2016 - Deadline for submissions
April 5, 2016 - Artists notified of acceptance or decline of entries via email
April 11 - Delivery of work to The Innovation Center
July 15 - Pick up artwork from The Innovation Center
