What is the Swansea Application
Route?
The SAR aims to support and enable:
• Recognition of the contribution of teachers, aligned to
the UK PSF
• A high quality learning, teaching and assessment
experience for all students
• Creativity, innovation and continuing professional
development in learning, teaching and assessment for
all staff engaged in delivering programmes at all
categories, and those supporting learning
• Evidence of professionalism and excellence in
academic practice

Both routes available for Associate Fellow,
Fellow or Senior Fellow applications.
Writing the Application
• Once you’ve attend an Information session, you’ll be
given access to the application form on Pebble+
• The application form depends on what category and
route of Fellowship you seek

At least one should hold the category of Fellowship
you seek or higher. One must be a current member
of staff at the University.
References should be made with explicit
consideration to the applicant’s experience as
outlined in the UK PSF.
You must therefore share your application with
your referees BEFORE a reference is written

You can attend either an information session or selfstudy the material on Blackboard.
You MUST pass a Quiz on the UKPSF before being
given access to the Pebble+ application.
Further support on using Pebble+ is available on the
SALT site, at information/drop in sessions or by
contacting the SALT team.

form to help with your writing, but we will only
accept applications submitted through the Pebble+
application platform.

Attend a SAR Information Session/request enrolment on the Bb
module. See the web for details
Download the SAR Guidance Pack
Pass the Fellowship Quiz.
Decide on either the presentation or written route.
Complete the Survey on the Bb module to confirm when and in
what format you’ll be applying.
You’ll be given access to the application form on Pebble+ and
allocated a mentor.

Build your evidence, reflecting on your practice.
Register and attend the relevant writing support sessions (See the Bb
module for details)
Start putting your application together.
Identify and advise your referees of your intention.

Have your mentor review your draft first
Share your application with two referees.
Give them the Guidance for Referees document.
Chase your references and get sign off by your line manager.
Submit all the required material by the submission deadline

When do you accept applications?
Once you’ve got access to the online application in Pebble+, you
can start working on your application.
SAR panels usually meet four times a year with the following
submission deadlines (some restrictions apply for PGCert
students):
