Savvy Christmas Shopping
The course will cover a variety of online strategies for maximising Internet savings in the run up
to Christmas. It will also compare online deals to look at the total cost of ownership of a product.
The course will then cover how to guard against online scams such as phishing and look at how
consumers can protect their personal information.

Masterchef
Wednesday, 3.45-4.45 pm, DGS
Our aim is to provide cooking tuition for the parents and the young learners in our school
community. We will offer four cooking sessions that will be aimed at improving each participant’s For: Parents and Child/Children
aged 8-15
cooking skills. Simple, nutritious and economical recipes will be used and participants will be
able to take away the meals that they have created on the night. There will also be a masterclass
session given by a professional chef from the impressive, ‘Portavadie’ restaurant and advice from
Health professionals on healthy eating.
Keep up with the Kids in S1 Maths
Support your child with their learning in S1 Mathematics. Learn the content of the S1
Mathematics course at Dunoon Grammar School and develop strategies that will allow you to
support your child with home learning to reinforce their in class learning.

How do we deal with the terrible twos!? Come and talk to other parents and discuss some ideas
about how to deal with toddlers and tantrums in a supportive environment. Celebrate the many
successes you have achieved as parents and have your questions answered whilst enjoying a well
deserved cuppa!

Fans of BBC Robot Wars will love, love, love our practical hands-on Robots and Drones club.
Parents and children will build programmable robots and flying drones. A fantastic introduction
to creative technologies you will not want to miss!

Splash into Spreadsheets
Ever had to been asked to use spreadsheets and not known how? Ever wanted to quickly create
different graphs and charts but not had the skillS? Come along to ‘Splash into spreadsheets’ and
learn the basics of using spreadsheets on Microsoft Excel! Learn how to format a spreadsheet, do
simple calculations, create charts and graphs and also how to use some challenging formula.
Once you have attended this session you will be sure to ‘Excel’ in the future!

Learn the skills to get that Perfect Job! Recognise the skills and attributes you have to create the

jobs using the latest job boards and search engines and register your CV in places where
employers can find you. Learn Interview skills and tips and meet employers to find out what they
are looking for in applicants.
Reading Together
Do you have fun reading with your child? Do you want to find out more about what you can do to
support your child’s reading? Come along and have fun reading together in this interactive
course. Find out about alternative resources available to support reading at home and about the
impact home learning has at all stages of your child’s education.
