This document has been designed to help you run your society elections for the 2016 /2017
committee with ease and to ensure that they comply with your society constitution. IT
MUST BE COMPLETED AND RETURNED TO THE SOCIETIES OFFICE NO MORE THAN 2 DAYS
AFTER YOUR ELECTION!

The President will chair and shall be responsible for the fair conduct of the elections.

In the event that the President is running for a position in the 2016/2017 committee,
the responsibility of chair should be passed to the Secretary for the necessary time
period.

Nominations should be from the floor at the time of election.

Elections shall be by simple majority. In the case of a tie a coin will be tossed.

Only official members of the society on the list provided are entitled to vote and
there shall be no proxy voting. Check everyone’s ID on entrance.

Please read out the following statement – Complaints about the conduct of this election
or the actions of candidates or others which might be considered to be detrimental to the
fair conduct of this election may be made by any member of the Society, in writing, within
48 hours of the election to the VP Activities, who may order a re-election if they are
satisfied that the conduct of any person is such that the results of the election may have
been affected.
