Manza Municipality has accomplished the urban planning process where
the implementation of the sustainable energy action plan is a part of this
plan. In this approved plan one of the main activities is the increase of
awareness in schools and for young generations.

8. Renewable energy sources
(Please, describe used renewable source, used at pilot
ecosystem services (not in order of priority). Climate change and
environmental degradation, especially access to clean water resources, is
generally considered to be two of the greatest environmental security
threats today
Low level of awareness on climate change is among the main factors
which are facing the local community in Manza Municipality.
Based on that, the pilot project will be focused on providing training
courses in order to educate the young generations on environmental
protection and the use of alternative sources for energy production.

Manza Municipality representatives (Mayer) will be in charge for
mobilising and assisting these activities.
Academic staff from Agricultural University will prepare and deliver
lectures for this group.
For selected high school will be delivery an awareness camping on the
use of biomass and municipality waste for production of energy.
These aspects will be than latter included in the Municipality budget for
future implementation.
This approach will be based on a bottom-up approach, which means that
several academic staff and students will be involved in the process of
data collection, interview, data processing , writing reports, etc.
Use of biomass and municipality waste for production of energy is the
two main renewable sources for this pilot action.

10. Increased energy efficiency
Agricultural University of Tirana will develop a full set of materials for
training course which will be used for these groups. This mechanism
provides an opportunity to organize lessons as well as to use group
discussions with interested participants.

The activities foreseen for School for Manza Municipality are 3 events
(the methodology used is an interactive meeting). A total amount of 10
meetings will be implemented (1 opening event with all participants, 1
initial interactive meeting, 7 lessons with pupils and teachers of the
school, and 1 Closing event with all participants invited in an auditorium.
